| Sonification of gene "DPY-8" from the genome of C. elegans. The sonification involves translating codons (base pair triplets that code for amino acids) into sound objects, one per amino acid. The sonified amino acids emanate from inside a labeled tin can. The sound is created using the same technology as the sensible environments, with a DNA sequence as input. A DNA reader feeds the sequence (a text file) into the generator. The system can also read DNA data live, so long as non-codong DNA is first removed from the stream. |
