Éric Marty is a data scientist, media artist and composer.

As a data scientist, he specializes in data visualization and mathematical modeling of infectious diseases, working in the Center for the Ecology of Infectious Diseases and the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia.

He is also the Digital Arts Fellow at UGA's Willson Center for the Humanities and Arts. As an artist, he works in interactive and generative design, hybrid forms and the intersections of ecology, art and sound. Drawing on cognitive sciences and natural systems, he creates surreal responsive environments that explore the hybridization of soundscapes and emergence of complexity.

Marty co-founded the Slingshot Festival of Music, Electronic Arts and Technology and was Slingshot's first curator of art and technology. He also formed Otherpole, a creative research collective making public art integrating visual art, sound and technology.

In 2025, Marty was a Multidisciplinary Fellow in Science and Music at the Hambidge Center in the temperate rainforest of the Southern Appalachian mountains in Georgia.
